Program Qualifications and Objectives

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS (PROGRAM LEARNIN OUTCOMES)

PQ1 – Adequate knowledge in mathematics, science and mining engineering discipline; the ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas in complex engineering problems.

PQ2 - Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex mining engineering problems; ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.

PQ3 - Ability to design a complex system, process, device or product under realistic constraints and conditions under the scope of mining engineering to meet specific requirements; ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose.

PQ4 - Ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in mining engineering applications; ability to use information technologies effectively.

PQ5 - An ability to design, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the study of complex mining engineering problems or specific disciplinary research topics.

PQ6 - Ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams; individual study skills.

PQ7 - Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written Turkish; knowledge of at least one foreign language; writing reports effectively and understanding these reports, preparing design and production reports, making effective presentations, giving and receiving clear and understandable instructions.

PQ8 - Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to access information, to follow developments in science and technology

PQ9 - To act in accordance with ethical principles, professional and ethical responsibility; Information on the standards used in mining engineering applications.

PQ10 - Knowledge about applications in business life, such as project management in mining engineering, risk management and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation; information about sustainable development.

PQ11 - Knowledge of the effects of mining engineering practices on health, environment and safety in universal and social dimensions and problems of the era in engineering; awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.

 

OBJECTIVES

PO1 - To reach professional basic knowledge level in mining field and to use the principles and concepts acquired

PO2 - To be able to make observations and evaluations related to the field, to identify professional problems and to produce solutions with effective methods

PO3 - To adapt to technological developments, to use professional programs

PO4 - Being respectful to ethical rules and sensitive to social and environmental problems

PO5 - To be able to comprehend occupational health and safety issues

PO6 - To take an active role in group works, to establish interdisciplinary relations
