- Is internship mandatory?

- How long is the internship?
“Software” internship is 20 working days, “Hardware” internship is 20 working days. One of the internships must be done at the end of the 4th semester at the earliest, and the other at the end of the 6th semester. You can start with the desired internship subject.
- How do I apply for an internship?
The student whose internship application is accepted by the company makes the internship application by entering detailed information about the internship and the company through the Student Information System (SDUNet) system.

- The workplace where I will do my internship wants me to document who will pay the SSI fee and whether my internship is compulsory. What should I do?
SSI fee is paid by our university against work accidents. Please contact the Internship Commission President for the relevant petition and the petition showing that the internship is compulsory.
- What happens if my internship application is rejected?
The internship application is reviewed by the department internship commission presidency and, if appropriate, it is accepted or rejected. The student whose application is rejected finds a different internship place and reapplies.
- Is there any obligation to continue the internship?
There is an obligation to continue the internship. The trainee student has to comply with the arrival and departure times applied in the institution. The situation of the student who is absent for more than three days without permission or excuse is reported to the Department Internship Commission by the institution and the student's internship is terminated.
- I am taking lessons in summer school. Can I do an internship?
If the student is taking courses in the summer school, he cannot start his internship before the end of the summer school.
- Can I do my internship in the form of 15 working days + 5 working days or 10 working days + 10 working days?
Internship periods have been approved by our department's board of directors as 20 working days Software internship and 20 working days Hardware internship. It is essential that these parts are made uninterrupted.
- I did my internship as 20 working days, but the internship commission did not accept 3 working days (for example). When should I do the remaining 3 working days?
The remaining days must be done uninterruptedly within the framework of the internship regulations and within the dates determined by the internship commission.
- What is required for my internship to be accepted?
According to the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles of Occupational Health and Safety Training of Employees, which was enacted regarding the execution of the law, it is a legal obligation to provide "Occupational Health and Safety Training (OHS)" to employees in the workplace. In accordance with this regulation, it is obligatory for the student to take OHS training through the obs system.
- When can I do the internship?
It is essential that internships be done in the summer periods, except for the fall and spring semesters. The entire internship (20 + 20 working days) or parts of the internship (only 20 working days) approved by the unit management boards can be done during the semester break if the time is sufficient.
- Does our university find the workplace where I will do my internship?
It is the student's responsibility to find a place of internship.
- Can I do an internship in the Fall or Spring Semester?
Internship studies are within the undergraduate education period and are done during the summer break, except for the education and exam periods. However, students who have completed their courses in the department and are only short of internship for graduation, students who have completed eight semesters and are not required to attend, and students who are on hold (at least five working days a week are free) who are determined not to be required to attend all courses in the semester they are registered during the education and examination periods. They can do internships.
- Can we do an internship abroad?
Yes you can. Students who want to do their internship outside Turkey can do their internship through the International Association for the Exchange of the Students for Technical Experience IAESTE or within the framework of the Socrates/Erasmus Program. Students can also do internships in foreign countries other than Turkey, with the written permission of the Department Board, in companies they contact as a result of their own initiatives.
- I came with a horizontal pass. I did an internship at my previous school. Can we be exempt from internship?
Students enrolled with lateral transfer can be accepted if they document their previous internships, which were accepted in their previous departments.
- How do I prepare the internship activity file?
The intern student records the work he has done during the internship in the Internship Activity Report according to the internship principles of the relevant department. Each page of the Internship Activity Report is approved by the internship authority. Work done during the internship; should be carefully recorded in the internship report on a daily basis, clearly stating the dates and subjects, with a ballpoint or ink pen or by using a computer. Times New Roman (12) or Arial (12) font should be used for computer writing. At the end of the internship, the Internship Activity Report and the Internship Registry Document are signed by the representative of the company where the internship is done. Institutional stamp/seal should also be printed on the Internship Registry document. The written language of the internship report prepared for the internship in the country is Turkish. For internships abroad, internship files can be prepared in Turkish or English.
