Introduction
Textile Engineering Department, which was established within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Süleyman Demirel University, started education and training at the undergraduate level in the 1944-1995 academic year. In our department, there are 11 academic personnel comprising 4 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor, 1 Research Assistant Dr., 1 Research Assistant and 3 administrative personnel including 1 Industrial Engineer, 1 Technician and 1 Secretary. Our department, which gave its first graduates in the 1998-1999 academic year, attended the Preparatory Class in 2003-2004, and the evening education in 2004-2005. In 1999, a graduate program was opened in our department. The doctoral program was opened in 2005 and admitted its first students in the fall semester of 2005.
In our department, there are Physical Quality Control Test Laboratory, Chemical Quality Control Test Laboratory, Comfort Laboratory, Nano Textile Laboratory, Microcapsule and Polymer Synthesis Laboratory, Nanocoating Laboratory, Short Staple Yarn Production Laboratory (for Combed Spun Yarn), Textile CAD/CAM Laboratory and Clothing Laboratory.
