TÜBİTAK Supports SDU Project

Our department's faculty member, Assistant Professor Ufuk ÖZKAYA, has been awarded funding for the TÜBİTAK 1002 Project titled “Büyükbaş Hayvanlar için Görüntü Tabanlı Otomatik Kimliklendirme ve Canlı Ağırlık Tahmini Yöntemi”.

 

The project, developed as part of the doctoral thesis supervised by Dr. Ufuk ÖZKAYA, will be led by Yusuf EFTELİ, a doctoral student in the Department. Our department's undergraduate students Ali Mohamed ABU and Mert ÖZTAŞLI will also participate in the project as researchers. Prof. Dr. İsmail KIRBAŞ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlktan BAŞTAN, faculty members at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU), will contribute to the project as advisors.

 

In the project, which will be carried out jointly with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, the steps of setting up imaging systems, creating image data sets, and creating morphometric data sets will be carried out within the MAKÜ HAYTEK Joint Application and Research Center. The second part of the project, involving image processing and the development of artificial intelligence models, will be carried out at the OPTIMA Research Laboratory within our department.
