What is FEDEK?

FEDEK carries out accreditation, evaluation and information activities for the academic programs of Faculties of Science, Letters, Science and Letters, and Language and History-Geography (hereinafter referred to as FEF) in different disciplines, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the quality of FEF education in Türkiye. FEDEK has been established with the aim of advancing education and training, scientific research and community service in FEF departments.

In order to achieve its objectives, FEDEK carries out the following activities:

To evaluate and accredit FEF academic programs upon application by the institutions,
To select and train evaluators who will take part in accreditation activities,
To inform and train program administrators and academic staff on program evaluation,
By continuously monitoring the current and future needs of stakeholders of FEF programs, to determine program evaluation criteria and, when necessary, to ensure that these criteria and processes are reviewed and updated,
To organize courses, seminars, conferences, panels, workshops and similar meetings at national and international levels, and to support activities carried out within this scope,
To establish communication and cooperation, carry out joint projects and provide mutual assistance with national and international associations, professional organizations and accreditation bodies related to education, evaluation and accreditation,
To conclude reciprocal and multilateral recognition agreements at the international level,
To become a member of relevant national and international organizations,
To conduct and commission studies and research in order to increase the effectiveness and improve the quality of its activities,
To obtain all kinds of information, documents and publications needed; to establish a documentation center and a website; to publish newspapers, journals, books and similar publications, as well as working and information bulletins to be distributed to its members, in order to announce its activities in line with its objectives; and to prepare, disseminate and publish printed and audio-visual materials related to its field of work,
To procure all types of technical tools and equipment, fixtures and stationery materials,
To carry out fundraising activities in accordance with the procedures specified in the Law No. 2860 on Collection of Aid and on the condition that the necessary permissions are obtained, and to accept donations from within the country and abroad,
To establish and operate economic, commercial and industrial enterprises, or to become a partner in enterprises with similar purposes, in order to obtain the revenues needed for its activities,
To purchase, sell, lease, rent out movable and immovable properties required for its activities, and to establish real rights on immovable properties,
When deemed necessary, to establish a federation or to join an existing federation; to establish, subject to the necessary permissions, facilities that associations are allowed to establish with permission; and to establish foundations or unions with part of its assets,
When deemed necessary, without prejudice to the provisions of Law No. 5072 on the Relations of Associations and Foundations with Public Institutions and Organizations, to carry out joint projects with public institutions and organizations in matters falling within their fields of responsibility,
In areas related to its objectives and not prohibited by law, to form platforms together with other associations, foundations, trade unions, unions and similar non-governmental organizations in order to achieve a common goal.
