Food Engineering

Food engineer researches about the topics including food processing, storage and preservation and new product development, utilization from raw materials for multi-purposes and by this way increasing variety of healthy foods. They solve the potential problem during processing, provide maintenance of operation, monitor production at all stages from raw material to consumption and control products’ quality. Food engineers could serve in Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, city halls, and private sector as project engineer, process engineer, investment manager, advisor, and/or quality control manager.

Person graduated from Food Engineering Department is entitled as “Food Engineer”. Food Engineering, primarily is a branch of production engineering. Engineers worked in production plant especially monitor production and deal with problems to solve, control processed materials in-stages of plants’ units, concern the products served for consumption.
