JOB DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the goals and principles determined by the senior management of Süleyman Demirel University; to perform, plan, direct, coordinate and supervise all necessary activities in accordance with the principles of effectiveness and efficiency to carry out education and training in line with the vision and mission of the Faculty.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform the duties assigned in the Higher Education Law No. 2547:

  1. Chair the Faculty Academic Board, Faculty Board, Faculty Administrative Board, and Faculty Disciplinary Board, and ensure the implementation of board decisions. Ensure coordination between faculty units to enable regular operation.
  2. Determine the mission and vision of the Faculty; share this with all faculty employees and motivate them for its realization.
  3. Ensure the preparation of the Faculty's analytical budget with justifications each year.
  4. Ensure that assets are acquired and used effectively, economically, efficiently and legally; ensure that controls are carried out, that records are kept transparently through the property registration and control officer, and that the Management Account is submitted.
  5. Prepare faculty staffing needs and submit them to the Rectorate.
  6. Perform general supervision and oversight duties over the faculty units.
  7. Ensure the establishment of a computerized information system in the Faculty.
  8. Ensure the preparation and implementation of surveys necessary for the information system.
  9. Ensure that education and training in the Faculty is conducted in an orderly manner.
  10. Develop policies and strategies related to education-teaching and research.
  11. Work to make the Faculty a continuously learning organization by organizing courses, seminars and conferences in areas needed by the administrative and academic staff of the Faculty.
  12. Ensure that faculty evaluation and quality improvement activities are carried out in a regular manner.
  13. Identify and resolve problems related to the education-teaching system of the Faculty, and refer them to higher authorities when necessary.
  14. Follow rising values in education-teaching and ensure their implementation at the Faculty level.
  15. Ensure the regular preparation and continuation of research projects in the Faculty.
  16. Ensure that necessary work is done for the accreditation of programs in the Faculty.
  17. Ensure the preparation of the Faculty's strategic plan. Ensure effective and efficient use of the Faculty's physical equipment and human resources.
  18. Ensure that necessary security measures are taken in the Faculty campus.
  19. Represent the Faculty at the highest level.
  20. Report to the Rector on the general situation and functioning of the Faculty at the end of each academic year.
  21. Perform other duties assigned by the Rector related to their field.
  22. Ensure that activities in areas of duty and responsibility are carried out in accordance with the definitions and instructions of the existing internal control system.
  23. Adhere to principles of economy.
  24. Provide opportunities for subordinate personnel to gain the skills and experience that will enable them to do their jobs more efficiently, effectively and in accordance with a quality system.
  25. Perform other duties assigned by the Rector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Vice Dean specified in Article 16 of Law No. 2547.

They assist the Dean as primary aides in all management and administration of the unit. Assigned by the Dean:

• International Affairs (Farabi - Erasmus)

Other Duties Assigned by the Faculty Dean:

1. Prepare the strategic plan of the Faculty.

2. Develop policies and strategies related to education-teaching and research.

3. Prepare the presentations for the Academic General Assembly held each academic year.

4. Ensure the preparation of faculty regulations and directives when necessary.

5. Ensure the implementation of "Teaching Process Evaluation Surveys" for faculty members.

6. Ensure that course registrations are carried out in a regular manner at the beginning of each semester.

7. Prepare and implement surveys for students to evaluate the Faculty.

8. Organize class representative and faculty representative elections and chair the meetings to be held.

9. Monitor student numbers, success status, and keep statistics.

10. Carry out all kinds of scholarship procedures, chair commissions to be established.

11. Deal with the problems of students in disadvantaged groups.

12. Organize graduation ceremony related work.

13. Listen to student problems on behalf of the dean and work to resolve them.

14. Help students who want to benefit from the general operations of the Faculty's ERASMUS and FARABI programs.

15. Provide University introduction organization for orientation activities of new students in order to get to know the University more closely and to get information about the departments.

16. Ensure the preparation and regular operation of the Faculty's Web page.

17. Maintain relations with relevant Institutes.

18. Organize events such as conferences, panels, meetings, symposiums, seminars, dinners, trips, technical visits to be held by the Faculty.

19. Carry out the chairmanship of the Faculty Quality Commission and attend meetings.

20. Organize activities within the scope of Quality in the Faculty.

21. Organize Social Contribution Activities and attend meetings.

22. Organize Accreditation activities in the Faculty.

23. Comply with the ethical rules of the Faculty, participate in internal control activities,

24. Serve as the Internationalization Officer in the Educational-Teaching Processes of our Faculty.

25. Perform other tasks that the Dean will give related to the Dean's area of duty.

26. Vice Deans should be aware of and knowledgeable about the activities of the other assistant and should be able to show executive activity in this field of duty when necessary (in all cases where the Vice Dean is not on duty).

27. They have full authority in both administration and expenditure matters when the Dean is not present.

  5. Check course assignments, identify teaching staff to be requested from outside the faculty, and inform the dean about this.
  6. Ensure that course registrations are carried out in a regular manner at the beginning of each semester.
  7. Provide University introduction organization for orientation activities of new students to get to know the University more closely and to get information about the departments.
  8. Perform and follow up work related to horizontal transfer, vertical transfer, double major, international student admission.
  9. Supervise student reports and leave related processes.
  10. Monitor student numbers, success status, and keep statistics.
  11. Carry out all kinds of scholarship procedures, chair commissions to be established.
  12. Supervise all kinds of activities to be organized by student clubs and students.
  13. Review requests from clubs for posters, equipment, halls, etc.
  14. Listen to student problems on behalf of the dean and work to resolve them.
  15. Coordinate the general student internship processes of the Faculty.
  16. Deal with the problems of students in disadvantaged groups.
  17. Deal with the problems of foreign students and students with disabilities.

In accordance with the goals and principles determined by the senior management of Süleyman Demirel University; to organize administrative and academic affairs with responsibility to the Dean and Vice Deans in order to carry out all necessary activities for education and training in line with the faculty's vision and mission in accordance with the principles of effectiveness and efficiency.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Faculty Secretary is responsible for the execution of the administrative services of the faculty, reporting to the Dean in accordance with paragraph (b) of Article 51 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.

1. To plan, coordinate and supervise the healthy, orderly and harmonious execution of matters within the scope of duty of the Faculty Secretariat in accordance with the relevant legislation,

2. To prepare the agenda of the Academic General Assembly, Faculty Board, Faculty Administrative Board and Faculty Disciplinary Board in line with the Dean's instructions and ensure notification to the concerned parties, to act as rapporteur to the boards

3. To prepare the fiscal year budget of the faculty and ensure the best use of the budget.

4. To ensure the execution of internal and external correspondence.

5. To take necessary security measures in the faculty campus.

6. To ensure the maintenance of heating, lighting, cleaning, maintenance and repair services of all buildings belonging to the faculty and to take security measures.

7. To ensure the procurement of goods and services needed by the faculty.

8. To participate in the arrangement and distribution of work rooms,

9. To ensure the execution of cleaning services and make necessary controls.

10. To act in accordance with the principles of saving, to ensure the efficient and economic use of resources.

11. To provide the teaching materials needed by the faculty members, to have them maintained and repaired.

12. To ensure that the records of the assets belonging to the faculty are kept, the entry and exit operations are carried out in the system, and the vehicles and equipment within the faculty are kept ready for service at all times.

13. To organize ceremonies organized by the faculty.

14. To follow the legislation concerning the activities of the Faculty Secretariat.

15. To follow the implementation and payments related to personnel rights.

16. To participate in and supervise civil defense work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Faculty Board is chaired by the Dean and consists of the Heads of the Departments affiliated to the Faculty, the Directors of Institutes and Schools affiliated to the Faculty, if any, and three professors elected by the professors in the Faculty for three years, two associate professors elected by the associate professors, and one assistant professor elected by the assistant professors. The Faculty Board normally meets at the beginning and end of each semester. The Dean convenes the Faculty Board when deemed necessary.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Faculty Board are specified in paragraph (b) of Article 17 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.

The Faculty Administrative Board consists of the Dean as the Chair, three professors, two associate professors and one assistant professor elected by the Faculty Board for three years. The Faculty Administrative Board meets upon the call of the Dean. When deemed necessary, the Administrative Board may establish temporary working groups, education-training coordinatorships and determine their duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of Department Heads are specified in Article 21 of Law No. 2547.

  1. The department is managed by the department head.
  2. The department head designates one of the department head assistants or one of the department faculty members as deputy for periods when they cannot be on duty.
  3. In case of absence for more than six months for any reason, a new department head is elected and appointed in the same way to complete the remaining term.
  4. The department head is responsible for the education - teaching and research at all levels of the department and for the orderly and efficient conduct of all activities related to the department.
  5. Chairs the Department Board and Department Academic Board.
  6. Reports the needs and requests of the department to the Dean's Office in writing.
  7. Ensures that all correspondence between the Dean's Office and the Department is carried out in a healthy manner.

  1. Performing first registration procedures for students newly registered to the Faculty,
  2. Preparing student certificate, transcript and military service document and conducting postal affairs,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Making small-scale repairs to electricity, water, doors, windows, machinery equipment, etc. that occur in buildings belonging to the faculty, informing the relevant people about those that cannot be repaired to ensure they are fixed,
  2. Developing plans for the protection, order and organization of the building, ensuring their implementation with the approval of the relevant authorities,
  3. Ensuring that the building is kept continuously ready for education-teaching,
  4. Assisting the administration regarding materials to be purchased for building maintenance repairs and machinery, equipment,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conducting and following general correspondence related to the department, arranging daily, monthly and annual work flows for tasks being carried out in the department secretariat to be done on time and correctly,
  2. Implementing decisions taken in the Department Board.
  3. Writing department-related board calls and decisions properly and notifying the concerned parties.

  5. Making student advisor appointments before each academic year begins,
